Going forward, Noona will support all cancer patients in all phases of treatment. We have worked on a major expansion of Noona for several months, and it will be published early this Spring. Until now, Noona has been used solely for follow-up care for breast cancer patients, and the excellent results motivated us to make a significant investment for expansion.
“The upcoming release will make Noona the world’s leading mobile service for remote monitoring of cancer patients. The patients will start using Noona immediately at diagnosis, already before the treatments start. Noona will be able to evaluate individual patient symptom severity based on her diagnosis and the symptom profiles of various treatments“ says Pasi Heiskanen, the Chief Operating Officer responsible for service expansion.
Noona development team’s ambitious goal is to create the world’s most compelling digital patient experience for cancer care. The results in breast cancer have been very promising: almost 80% of patients want to use Noona instead of usual care. “Our focus on design and patient experience has been as intensive as our focus on technology. We have succeeded to create an experience that patients find genuinely valuable during a period which may be the hardest in their very lives” says Juha Salonen, the Head of Design.
Noona develops the service in close collaboration with the leading cancer care professionals from HUCH Comprehensive Cancer Center. Altogether 30 software, design, communications, and medical professionals are working together on the expansion.
